General Requirements:

1. Indonesian Managers between 28 – 35 years old, 22 – 26 years old for supervisor and 19 – 22 years old for new entries to the industry

2. Very Good in English communication both oral & written.

3. Motivated Persons with solid relevant experience.

4. Minimum 5 years in a 5 star International Hotel chain.

5. Have very good training skills.

6. Accept and seek and responsibility and willing to grow with training

7. Overseas (International) experience will be an advantage.

Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta

(Opening Mid 2008)

Kempinski is set to manage a five star luxury landmark hotel in Jakarta, which will open the cities largest Grand Ballroom with 4000 sqm in March 2008 as part of Asia’s largest shopping and entertainment complex. This landmark hotel will be extensively remodeled before it opens in June 2008 as the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta. The hotel will boast 289 spacious 65 sqm rooms and beautiful suites located in two adjacent buildings. The hotel’s interior design will be inspired with contemporary Indonesian art and style, complimented with a spectacular 300 sqm Presidential Suite with its own private wellness area.

FACILITIES

Located above the hotel complex on the 17th floor is a 3000 sqm deluxe Spa with a wide range of treatment rooms, large pool & garden and a state of the art fitness centre. The Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta will offer four dining options such as a Chinese “fusion cuisine”- Restaurant, located on the 15th floor with breathtaking views, an Italian Restaurant with adjoining outdoor Plaza, international All Day Dining-Café, Lobby Bar & Terrace, 24-hour Room Service, an exclusive Executive Lounge, a Business center and will feature the famous 600 sqm Bali Ballroom and eight conference rooms. The total complex includes the Grand Ballroom and Bali Ballroom, offering together 5000 sqm of exhibition and meeting space. In addition to a 52-storey office tower, a second 59-storey residential tower presents 300 state-of-the-art “Kempinski Residences” featuring from 126 to 261 sqm of luxury living – fully serviced by the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta.

Colorful and vibrant, Jakarta city is one of Indonesia’s key commercial and tourist centres. The hotel, originally the historic Hotel Indonesia, will be located at the heart of Jakarta.

    Assertive Communication

    What is Assertiveness?

    Assertiveness is the ability to honestly express your opinions, feelings, attitudes, and rights, without undue anxiety, in a way that doesn’t violate the rights of others.

    Where does non-assertive behavior come from? Many of us are taught that we should always please and/or defer to others, that it is not nice to consider our own needs above those of others, or that we shouldn’t “make waves”, that if someone says or does something that we don’t like, we should just be quiet and try to stay away from that person in the future.

    Why is Assertiveness Important?

    If you don’t know how to be assertive, you might experience…

    Depression:
    From anger turned inward, a sense of being helpless, hopeless, with no control over your life.
    Resentment:
    Anger at others for manipulating or taking advantage of me.
    Frustration:
    How could I be sure a wimp? Why did I let someone victimize me?
    Temper/violence:
    If you can’t express anger appropriately, it builds up until it blows.
    Anxiety:
    which leads to avoidance. If you begin to avoid situations or people that you know will make you uncomfortable, you may miss out on fun activities, job opportunities, relationships, and lots of other good stuff.
    Poor relationships of all kinds:
    Non-assertive people are often unable to express emotions of all kind, negative OR positive.
    Parenting problems:
    Kids are born knowing how to test the limits their parents set for them. If parents aren’t assertive and firm their kids will walk all over them!

    A note about selective assertiveness

    Most people find it easier to be assertive in some situations than in others. This makes perfect sense. It’s a lot easier to hold your ground with a stranger than with someone you lovewho might get angry if you express your true feelings. But the more important the relationship is to you, the more important it is to be assertive. Assertive behaviors lead to increased respect from others, their willingness to see you as a person who respectshim/herself, a worthwhile person.

    Is assertiveness always the best way to go? Before you decide to act assertively in a given situation, you have to decide if you can live with the consequences. Although assertive behavior usually will result in a positive response, some people might react negatively to it. For example, if your boss is completely unreasonable and is known to go ballistic if anyone dares question his orders, even non-aggressive, respectful, assertive behavior might set him off and you could lose your job. If that’s your situation, then you may decide you can’t afford to be assertive, and learn other stress management techniques.
